A Wake County woman died in a fire in a farmhouse that had been in her family for at least three generations.
Francis Bonin was found in dead in a bedroom in the home early Christmas morning.
Bonin was 53 and lived alone in the farmhouse that was owned by her parents, who died earlier this year.
Fairview firefighters arrived at the home about 1:20 a.m. and
found that the carport and rear of the building already had been
consumed by flames.
Wake County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Phyllis Stephens says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
